Unit one is all about experimenting and invesigating. This unit helps us create an experiment. Activities we do in class will help us work on how to write a good hypothesis, writing a good procedure, design a good experiment, collect quatitavtice data, graph data, analyze data and write a good conclusion. All these activities we learn to do will help us create and experiment the perfect science fair project.

8th Grade Science Standards Covered:
Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:
- Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
- Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
- Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
- Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
